Steve Kabba struck a sensational late goal to give Blackpool all three points at home to Barnsley.
With four minutes left the game looked to be heading for a draw, but the on-loan striker struck to give Blackpool their first home win of the season.
Kabba collected the ball 25 yards from goal and drilled the ball past Luke Steele in the Barnsley goal.
Chances were few and far between during the game and the defeat is Barnsley's third straight loss on their travels.
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson: "We knew Barnsley would give us a tough battle and it needed a great strike to win the game.
"We had already had two goalbound efforts cleared off the line by Barnsley headers.
"The two subs I brought on into midfield gave us some more zip and creativity just when it mattered.
"It is going to be a long hard battle but we are playing with self-belief and we are playing some good football as well."
Barnsley boss Simon Davey:

"We were the ones pushing in the second half and I thought that there was only ever going to be one winner if the chance came.
"The ball definitely hit the hand of one of their players in the area but it went against us, as did most of the decisions. "
