Arturo Lupoli had only been on the pitch for three minutes
Substitute Arturo Lupoli rescued a point for Norwich as they came from 2-0 down to hold Cardiff at Ninian Park.
Ross McCormack put Cardiff ahead after just three minutes finishing clinically past goalkeeper David Marshall.
Jamie Cureton wasted the chance to level by putting his penalty wide five minutes later, but McCormack made no mistake from his 67th-minute spot kick.
Arturo Lupoli pulled one back on 76 minutes despite calls for offside and a diving header soon after made it 2-2.
Cardiff manager Dave Jones "We were cruising but when you are cruising you've got to keep working hard and we stopped.
"We thought the game was done and dusted.
"It's annoying because we feel like we've lost after being in such a commanding position."
Norwich manager Glenn Roeder "It was a very strong finish by us and I would have fancied ourselves to score the next goal, but on the balance of play we have to be satisfied with a point.
"We needed to do something after going two behind and I'm very glad that we managed to do that thanks to Arturo.
"The boys need a pat on the back for keeping going and we are a super-fit side, so today it has all paid off."
