Plymouth 3-0 Blackpool

Rory Fallon's double helped keep Plymouth on course for their highest league finish for 20 years as they eased to victory over Blackpool.

Jermaine Easter took advantage of some sloppy defending from the visitors to fire Plymouth ahead on four minutes.

Fallon headed in Luke Summerfield's corner to double the lead and he made it 3-0 when he headed in another Summerfield cross on 55 minutes.

Blackpool must now win their final at home to Watford to avoid relegation.

  • Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock:
"It was good for all of us after the week that we have had. I never like this week but now it is over and we can all move on.

"It was good that both the strikers got on the scoresheet. I was pleased for Rory and Jermaine.

"Luke Summerfield's deliveries from set pieces was what we've been working on all week and they worked a treat."

  • Blackpool manager Simon Grayson:
"You can't get away from the fact that if Southampton don't beat West Brom then we are safe, so we will be hoping West Brom win it.

"We can then look forward to the Watford game in a relaxed manner.

"Where we are in the division, other results have gone against us and obviously our goal difference has taken a little bit of a battering."
