Ipswich fought back for a draw against FA Cup finalists Cardiff for a result that hurts both sides' play-off hopes.
Good work by Joe Ledley then superb trickery from Aaron Ramsey set up the opener, Ramsey sliding the ball across the goal for a Gavin Rae tap in.
A deflected Alan Quinn shot set up the Jordan Rhodes equaliser, Cardiff stopping for offside but a rebound from one of their players sending Rhodes in.
Danny Haynes had an injury time goal disallowed as Glenn Loovens was fouled.
"Promotion opportunities don't come very often and you need to grasp them, we are running out of games.
"You have got to put your life on the line for 90 minutes. I don't want them sitting on the beach in the summer thinking what might have been.
"I don't know why the referee disallowed Danny Haynes' late goal, it was a great finish."
Cardiff manager Dave Jones:
"I can't give my players enough credit after the week they've had, they were dead on their feet and showed so much character.
"It's been a difficult week for us, I'm sick of being on the bus.
"We'll assess the play-off situation after Saturday's game. We definitely need a win, but above all I need to get my squad into a rest period, they're running on reserves right now."
