Sheff Utd 2-0 Norwich

Sheffield United picked up their third win in a row thanks to goals from Billy Sharp and Matthew Kilgallon.

Sharp, who scored his first goal for the Blades in midweek, opened the scoring after 52 minutes when he found the bottom corner from six yards.

Four minutes later, Kilgallon headed home David Carney's cross.

The only sour note for Kevin Blackwell's side came in the second half when striker Rob Hulse - who had hit the post - limped off.

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell on his side's chances of reaching the Championship play-offs:

"All we can do is keep winning and, if we do that, then you never know where it might take us.

"But this is a topsy-turvy division and so the first thing we want to do is get to 50 points.

"It might take a few more than that but that was the best performance since I've been here by a country mile."

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder:

"We played well and had chances, but then we held a gun to our head and pulled the trigger twice.

"We've got to get back to doing what we were doing when I first came here and that's winning football matches.

"We don't want to find ourselves sucked into something we don't want to. But I'm not looking over my shoulder."
