Sheffield Wednesday boosted their hopes of survival by coming from behind and beating QPR at Hillsborough. The visitors went ahead when Damien Delaney slotted in Rowan Vine's cross.
Patrick Agyemang struck the post as QPR went close to a second, before Graham Kavanagh drilled Franck Songo'o's centre into the top corner to level.
Deon Burton's penalty won it when Sean McAllister was fouled by Lee Camp, while QPR had Hogan Ephraim sent off late on for a reckless challenge.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws:
"We came to pay tribute to Derek Dooley at the beginning of the game for a wonderful service to the club but we didn't perform for over half an hour.
"I could have taken off any one of the 11 players - don't take it out on the
players who came off, I take responsibility. I pick the team, and therefore have
a go at me. I got it wrong and changed it and thankfully it worked out for us."
QPR manager Luigi de Canio:
"It was a game of two halves. If we had taken our opportunities in the first half we would not have lost this game.
"The game turned with the arrival of the substitutions and Sheffield Wednesday
came back into it. They started to play better and after the penalty it was one
way.
"The referee has to ref within parameters and I feel the referee has to take some responsibility for what happened. There was a lot of poor decisions which resulted in the sending-off at the end."
