Ipswich 1-1 Stoke
Stoke battled back to earn a share of the spoils at Ipswich.

Danny Haynes put the home side ahead when he drilled the ball home from 18 yards just as Stoke threatened to take control of the game.

Andy Wilkinson was forced off injured for the visitors, who levelled through Ricardo Fuller firing home after being put in by Danny Pugh.

Haynes later fired in a free-kick which keeper Steve Simonsen tipped over the bar but a winner eluded both sides.

  • Ipswich boss Jim Magilton:
"We started excellently, passed the ball very well and scored a terrific goal from our most dangerous player.

"At that point everything looked rosy but it was as though we waited for something else to happen.

"Stoke aren't fourth for no reason. They showed great determination and, overall, a point each was fair."

  • Stoke boss Tony Pulis:
"We gave it a real go. Ipswich will know they were in a game and, with a little bit of luck, we could have won because we didn't sit back.

"Ipswich are a very good team, especially at home.

"They gave us some scary moments but we had the best chance of the second half when their goalkeeper saved from Ricardo Fuller."
