Loan signing Gary Speed made his debut for Sheffield United in the lacklustre goalless draw with Wolves at Molineux. Speed and Wolverhampton's Andrew Keogh both spurned chances in a scrappy opening which saw both teams struggling to retain possession.
Blades midfielder Lee Hendrie began to make his presence felt and he had a shot blocked by keeper Wayne Hennessey.
Rob Hulse blasted over for the visitors before Wolves piled forward late on to try and find a winner.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy on the supporters signing "you don't know what you're doing":
"I think I do know what I'm doing," said McCarthy, who faced chants to the contrary from the Molineux crowd. "I'd sooner they gave me the abuse and not the players - my players are in it with me.
"It is frustrating for me and the players - they are not enjoying not winning games."
Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson:
"It was a good, workman-like performance. A point here is not bad. "When you play a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 we've done quite well in those games, but when I've played 4-4-2 away from home people have been creating a lot of chances against us.
"We had a couple of situations when we should have done better but overall we have got to be pleased after not having any breaks over the last few games."
