Ben Burgess headed an injury-time winner as Blackpool won the battle of the Championship strugglers. Paul Rachubka tipped on-loan QPR striker Rowan Vine's shot around the post and denied Akos Buzsaky early on.
Shaun Barker headed narrowly wide from 12 yards and Burgess' shot was blocked by Lee Camp as the Seasiders improved.
Barker headed a good chance over and Camp saved from Burgess and Andy Morrell before Burgess won the game dramatically with a 12-yard effort.
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson:
"I told the players we would always get one more chance and we did that in the end through Ben. "Time stood still when Ben had his chance and like the QPR 'keeper we were just waiting for it to fly past the post.
"We could have sewn the game up but we had to work at it and the players showed real grit and determination."
QPR manager Luigi de Canio:
"It wasn't quite the performance we expected from the team. I thought and hoped the team would be better than they did. "However, we weren't able to play and that is down to Blackpool's performance. They were always really aggressive and they stopped us from playing the game we wanted.
"The conditions were also a big factor as we like to play passing football and the conditions favoured Blackpool's aggressive approach."
