Warnock is back after being relegated with Sheff Utd last season |
Tom Soares had a mixed afternoon as Neil Warnock's first game in charge of Crystal Palace ended in a draw.
After a goalless first half, the home side did not clear Danny Butterfield's cross and James Scowcroft freed Soares, who fired Palace ahead from 12 yards.
But the lead lasted barely 10 minutes as Stephen Crainey's free-kick squirmed through the wall and David Fox pounced on the loose ball from close range.
Three minutes before the end Soares was dismissed for serious foul play.
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson:
"I knew Palace would come out and have a go as all teams do with a new manager, but especially so with Neil Warnock. "We almost snatched it in the second half but there were lots of ifs, buts and maybes.
"I tried to sign two players on loan on Friday, I tried 20 players in the last seven to 10 days but can't seem to get anyone to come here."
Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock:
"I really enjoyed it and once we had taken the lead I thought we'd go on and win it. "My stomach was churning before the game, it's a nice challenge at a new club and I'm pleased that the players didn't let me down.
"I want our players to enjoy coming to work. We'll win some and lose some but I just want everyone to enjoy it."
