Darius Henderson and Tommy Smith were on target to lift Watford to the top of the Championship after beating Ipswich. Henderson collected a pass from strike partner Marlon King to drill home his first goal of the season from 12 yards.
Smith sealed the points when he picked up possession 20 yards out and turned to unleash a left-foot screamer.
Despite their bright start to the season Ipswich offered little threat, with Pablo Counago closest to grabbing a consolation goal.
Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd on the club's striking options:
"I think I'm blessed. I've got a group of five strikers pushing for a starting place and nobody can be complacent. "Everybody will get pushed. Darius has proved that he can get goals and Marlon King has obviously proved that.
"Now Nathan comes on for 15 minutes and he's hit the post and causes havoc."
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton:
"When you concede goals they're always avoidable but they were goals that were poor defensively. "The first goal was very good, but at half-time, at 1-0, I think we had a few choice words. We just can't think we are going to turn up and switch it on.
"To be fair to the lads they came out second half and had a real go and their goal was against the run of play."
