Marton Fulop made a string of superb saves to ensure managerless Leicester left Plymouth with a draw. Fulop saved a free-kick from Peter Halmosi and denied David Norris in the early stages, while Leicester's Patrick Kisnorbo headed wide from a corner.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Paul Connolly and Lilian Nalis also went close only to be foiled by Foxes keeper Fulop.
Kisnorbo blocked a Nalis effort, while Carl Cort went close for Leicester and Iain Hume wasted a good chance.
Plymouth boss Ian Holloway:
"I did not know what sort of Leicester team would turn up given what has happened to them. "We encountered a strong, resilient side, which is credit to them and whoever is left there.
"On the plus side for me there was some very positive defending. We have kept our second clean sheet of the week. That is something we must build on."
Leicester caretaker manager Jon Rudkin:
"The team was terrifically well led by Stephen Clemence and I thought the work rate all round the pitch was great. "I thought our defenders were magnificent. Both our central defenders Patrick Kisnorbo and Gareth McAuley were magnificent and the goalkeeper Marlon Fulop as well, has a great presence in there.
"Defensively we were delighted. We could have come and sprayed it around with six or seven passes and finished it off with a volley but first and foremost was to defend."
