Jonathan Macken and Alan Lee eased Ipswich's relegation fears with a hard-earned victory over Coventry. Macken, on loan from Crystal Palace, opened the scoring when he poked home Gavin Williams' corner.
Lee took his tally for the season into double figures by heading a Billy Clarke cross into the bottom corner with five minutes remaining.
Michael Doyle's drive from the edge of the area gave Coventry some late hope but Ipswich held on for the points.
Coventry assistant manager Adrian Heath on the crowd's jeering of manager Micky Adams:
"Micky's very down. He is a proud man and obviously doesn't want to listen to that sort of thing.
"Our performance was poor and we all understand the fans' frustration.
"This was the first of two back-to-back home games and we hoped to push on but in the end Michael Doyle's goal masked a pretty poor performance."
