Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Ipswich as Peter Taylor won his first match in charge of the Eagles. Jim Magilton's bow as Ipswich boss ended in defeat but his side started well, with Richard Naylor heading over and Alex Bruce seeing a shot saved.
They went ahead when Nicky Forster chased a long ball and slotted home.
Palace hit back when Jobi McAnuff shot home after a mix-up between Bruce and Fabian Wilnis before Jamie Scowcroft bundled in the winner from close-range.
It was Scowcroft's debut in a Palace shirt and he delievered an early blow to the club he represented for seven years.
He had missed an earlier chance when he headed over a Carl Fletcher free-kick, but made amends just after the half-hour mark.
Palace held on as Forster had a goal ruled out and Wilnis and Jason de Vos squandered late chances with headers.
Ex-Ipswich manager Bobby Robson was introduced to the Portman Road crowd before the game as their new honorary club president.
But Robson, 73, was taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell 10 minutes into the game.
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton:
"We passed and moved like an Ipswich team I want to manage. "Nicky Forster picked up from where he left off last season and we were in control - but we had a crazy few minutes which lost us the game.
"But I'm delighted with the team, who gave me everything. On any other day we would have got something from that."
Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor:
"Carl Fletcher looks a good type, I've always been impressed with him, he's a good passer and he's a leader. "And I'm pleased for James Scowcroft. He obviously has a great affection for this club but he got the goal and he led the line very well."
