Altrincham came from behind against Histon to maintain second place in the Blue Square Premier.

Josh Simpson opened the scoring for the visitors when his strike from inside the six-yard box found the net.

Chris Denham equalised midway through the first half after he connected with Chris Senior's header.

Dale Johnson put Altrincham ahead four minutes after the break and, despite coming close through Danny Wright, Histon could not find the equaliser.

Histon manager Steve Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:

"We're disappointed. Second half we had enough of the ball and enough situations.

"But we lacked a bit of quality in our approach play. And they packed their defence.

"We've got to start taking chances. But we'll pick ourselves up. We've got a lot of confidence in these players."
