Ahly's Mohamed Barakat has admitted the prospect of playing in the World Club Championship is motivating them to win this year's Champions League.

The yet-to-be crowned African champions will represent the continent at December's lucrative tournament in Japan.

Morocco's Raja Casablanca represented the continent at the 2000 edition in Brazil.

"Our main goal is to travel to Japan and become the first Egyptian team to play at the Fifa World Club Championship," Barakat said.

He scored both goals in Ahly's 2-0 win over Cairo arch-rivals Zamalek in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

"I was determined to score goals. I was confident Ahly would win and I wanted to score. I'm happy I did just that," he said.

Ahly won the tie 4-1 on aggregate, after a 2-1 victory in the first leg.

Ahly face Tunisia's Etoile Sahel in the finals of this year's competition.

"Ahly will be looking forward to the final. The road to Japan is through Tunisia," Barakat went on.

Etoile beat Morocco's Raja Casablanca 2-0 on aggregate in the other semi-final.

The first leg of the million-dollar final will be played in Sousse between 28-30 October.

Cairo's International Stadium, venue of the opening and closing games at next year's Cup of Nations, will stage the return game two weeks later.
