Nigeria coach Adegboye Onigbinde has named several uncapped players in his squad to face Scotland.

The Super Eagles play Berti Vogt's team in a friendly in Aberdeen, Scotland on 17 April.

Onigbinde has stuck to his promise to give new players a chance to stake their claim for inclusion in Nigeria's World Cup squad.

But there has been no recall for former captain Sunday Oliseh and forward Finidi George.

Neither player has been selected by Onigbinde since he was named coach.

The new players include Patrick Mancha from Jurong of Singapore and Rabiu Baita, the top scorer in Nigeria's first division.

Osaze Odewegie, a striker with Insurance FC of Benin, was among the seven players in the domestic league invited to the squad.

The 30-man squad also includes English-based defender Daniel Shittu, who made his debut in the recent friendly against Paraguay.

Onigbinde, a 64-year-old former schoolteacher, has said he hopes for a "respectable" performance at the World Cup, while "laying a solid foundation for a team for the future".

Enyimba appoint Amodu

It has been reported by AFP that former Nigeria coach Amodu Shaibu has been hired by Enyimba for their African Champions League campaign.

Shaibu replaces Yugoslav Kostadin Papic, who was recently sacked.

The new Enyimba coach was dismissed by Nigeria's sports minister, following the Super Eagles failure to reach the final of the African Nations Cup in Mali.

Shaibu's immediate task is to guide Enyimba to the second round of the Champions League.
