Fufa president Denis Obua has withdrawn from Cecafa's block support for Hayatou, prompting a furious response from the federation.
Addo warned they would suffer the consequences if they refused. "World's enemy" "Defiant Cecafa members will be disciplined after the Fifa elections on May 29," he said. He said Fufa were supporting the "world's enemy" in Sepp Blatter, the man who stands against Hayatou. "The bribery syndrome that has become synonymous with the Blatter administration could attract some Cecafa members, but to their detriment," Addo stated.
Instead he claimed that Uganda would lose out if identified with either candidate. "Other countries can afford to show which side they support but for us we are still very poor and can not afford to come out openly," he said. | See also: Other top Africa stories: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||
