Ramzy bounces back
Egypt's Hani Ramzy
Hani Ramzy has made peace with Kaiserslautern
Egypt's Hani Ramzy has been reinstated by his German club Kaiserslautern after apologizing to all parties following a conviction for sexual assault.

The 32 year old player was fired by the Bundesliga side on Friday.

But since then Ramzy has apologized to his victim who says she never wanted to see the player sacked in the first place.

Hany is going to donate a significant sum of money to charity and this affair is now closed.
Jurgen Friedrich, President Kaiserslautern
The 26 year old Norwegian woman, who is now in Australia, gave a statement through her lawyer in which she said she was a supporter of Kaiserslautern and had accepted his apology.

She said that she felt the conviction was enough punishment and as a supporter she did not want to see him leave the club.

The incident took place last August when the player was accused of sexually harassing the woman in a bar and trying to kiss her.

The President of Kaiserslautern, Jurgen Friedrich, has ordered that Ramzy now pay a fine to a charity as punishment.

The conviction took place on 14th February, but the club claims it only found out about it last week when it came out in the media.

Al Ahly's disappointment

Over the weekend Ramzy spoke on Egyptian television, saying that while he lost his temper towards the girl, he did not by any mean try to react in any sexual way towards her.

One disappointed party in all this is Egyptian club, Al Ahly, who were said to be interested in seeing his return, should his career with the German side be over.

Ramzy has, however, made assurances that he is still determined to continue his career with Kaiserslauten, and it is still not the time for his European career to end.

Next weekend he is expected to return to the first team for whom he has been a virtual ever present for this season.

The Egyptian team captain has played 23 times this season, the only games he missed were when he went to the African Cup of Nations to represent his country.
