Real and Chelsea officials have reportedly agreed a �6.6m fee but Arsenal are thought to have targeted the right-back as well.

Geremi would fit into both sides as Chelsea are set to lose right-back Albert Ferrer during the summer while Arsenal will be looking for a successor to the ageing Lee Dixon.

Geremi said: "I am not a regular at Madrid, and Chelsea are more than a good team."

The two London clubs would certainly be buying a winner, as in the last 18 months, the 22-year-old has picked up a staggering collection of honours.

He took the African Nations Cup with Cameroon in January 2000, the Champions League with Madrid a few months later, Olympic gold in September in Sydney and then the Spanish league title last month.
