![]() | Sunday, 10 February, 2002, 19:38 GMT Fowler the head boy ![]() Robbie Fowler has now managed eight goals for Leeds since moving from Liverpool in an 11m deal two months ago. But none can have been as opportunist as the clever header against Middlesbrough, which took his tally for the season to 11 goals. When Paul Ince fouled Olivier Dacourt 22 yards out, all eyes were on dead-ball specialist Ian Harte. True to form, the full-back curled a free-kick goalwards - but Fowler brilliantly intervened. The striker stooped low to send a deft flicked header beyond the helpless Mark Crossley from barely two yards out. An opportunist intervention, or a goal straight from the training ground? Only Leeds know the answer but, either way, Fowler's predatory instincts make his strike the pick of the week. |
