The legendary yellow and green number 10 shirt is expected to fetch between �30,000 to �50,000 when it goes under the hammer at auctioneers Christie's next month.

"It is the shirt worn by the world's greatest football player in what is often regarded as the world's greatest football match - and it still has the grass stains from the game."

Pele wore the shirt when Brazil thrashed Italy 4-1 in Mexico City to win the World Cup for the third time.

Also up for grabs at the football memorabilia auction in London on 27 March is the World Cup winners medal won by England's Ray Wilson in 1966.

The medal, awarded for England's famous 4-2 win over West Germany at Wembley, is expected to make between �70,000 and �90,000.
