Shackell has played 46 games for Barnsley this season
Derby County are keen on signing Barnsley centre-half Jason Shackell, BBC Radio Derby reports.
The Rams have approached the Tykes and are thought to have made an offer for the 27-year-old.
But managerless Barnsley - who are in talks with Rochdale boss Keith Hill, external - have said they will not consider any offer until a new manager is appointed.
Shackell only joined Barnsley from Norwich, external last summer and has two years to run on his current deal.
