Cambridge are unbeaten in the four games Bentley has played
Gillingham midfielder Mark Bentley says he is open to extending his stay with Cambridge United.
The 33-year-old has three games of his loan spell with the Blue Square Bet Premier club remaining.
"It's whoever's going to offer me football, at my time in my career I don't want to be sitting on the bench," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"If Cambridge can offer me football then great, if things can be extended I'll be keen to listen."
Bentley moved to the Abbey Stadium at the beginning of March and has since made four appearances for the U's, scoring one goal.
"I've got three more games and I'll give my all for Cambridge like I have done over the last four games," added the former Southend man.
"The ball is in Gillingham's court then, but I don't want to go back to Gillingham if I'm not going to be used.
"I'm enjoying my time at Cambridge, I'm enjoying playing, I'm getting fitter every game and long may that continue.
"All I want to do is play football, that's one thing I've wanted all along."
