London's Kruse is in good form

British fencer Richard Kruse took silver at a World Cup fencing competition in Seoul after losing 15-10 to Korean Young Ho Kwon.

"I am a bit disappointed not to have converted in the final," said the world number 14 from London.

"However, I think I am starting to hit some decent form now - which bodes well for the World Cup event in Tokyo."

Britons Laurence Halsted and Ed Jeffries also performed well, just missing out on semi-final places.

Lead national foil coach Ziemek Wojciechowski said: "It was a good result for the British foil World Class Pathway squad and for the first time we had three fencers in the top eight at a World Cup event.

"This shows the steady progress we are making all the time and that we are on course with our Olympic dream of winning medals at our home Games."
