Gunn celebrates a wicket during the ODI series against Australia

England vice-captain Jenny Gunn says adapting to the different forms of the game is one of the main challenges they are facing on their tour to Australia.

The Nottinghamshire all-rounder is a key part of the England side that is looking to retain the women's Ashes.

England lost the one-day series 2-1 and there are five Twenty20 internationals before the one-off, four-day Test.

Vice-captain Gunn, 24, said: "It's difficult especially going from the Twenty20 format to Test cricket."

Gunn took four wickets in the three ODI games, and hit an unbeaten 27 to help guide England to a seven-wicket win in the the final match of the series.

The five-match Twenty20 campaign gets under way in Adelaide on Wednesday - with the men beginning their Twenty20 series on the same ground immediately after.

Gunn is relishing the chance to face the Australians but the Ashes is the priority and she says it will be hard to adjust to the Test match in Sydney on 22 January.

"It is a bit different as the only four-day cricket we play is when Test cricket comes around," Gunn explained.

"But it is something we really enjoy and look forward to.

"It will be tough in their home yard but we are playing good, exciting cricket. It will be a challenge but we are looking good for it.

"It is so different, especially in the heat, but we really enjoy playing Test cricket."
