Guha was too much for the West Indies to handle |
Isa Guha was England's star as she helped her side thrash the West Indies by 10 wickets in their limited-overs international at Loughborough. The seam bowler took 5-14 from eight overs as the visitors notched a paltry 41 from 28.2 overs. Guha, 23, has now taken two five-wicket hauls in her one-day career. England duo Sarah Taylor (30) and Ebony Rainford-Brent (5) eased their side to victory and a 1-0 series triumph after Friday's abandonment. The Windies' total was the 10th lowest in the women's one-day game, as Guha took full advantage of helpful conditions. "It swung and moved off the seam early on which suits my bowling," she told ecb.co.uk. "I like bowling in partnership with Nunny [Katherine Brunt]. Today it was me taking wickets and her keeping the runs down. "We complement each other really well. She has been the spearhead of our attack and always makes something happen," Guha added. Left-arm spinner Holly Colvin took two wickets, while Brunt, Nicola Shaw and Laura Marsh grabbed a wicket each and it took England's openers took just 7.5 overs to rattle off the required runs.
