Shaw injury woe for England women

Shaw has played in 32 one-day internationals for her country

England medium-pacer Nicki Shaw has been ruled out of the forthcoming international series against India with an injured right knee.

The Nottinghamshire bowler suffered suspected ligament damage in her right knee during the final round of matches in the women's County Championship.

Former MCC Young Cricketer Shaw, 24, has played in 32 one-day internationals, with 14 wickets.

Sussex seam bowler Laura Marsh has been drafted in as her replacement.

Kent won the County Championship for the first time at the finals held at Uppingham School.

The team skippered by England captain Charlotte Edwards' team strode to victory in the decider against holders Sussex, winning by nine wickets.

Edwards was in fine form, taking 4-15, three catches and then hitting 67 not out as she led her side to a historical victory.
