Rolton to captain Australia women
Karen Rolton
Rolton is the third-highest scorer in one-day internationals
Karen Rolton has been named as the new captain of the Australia women's team, succeeding the retired Belinda Clark.

Twenty-six-year-old all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar succeeds her as vice-captain.

Rolton, the third-highest scorer in one-day internationals, will lead the side in a home series against India later this month.

"I know I have some big shoes to fill but we are entering a new era and I'm looking forward to playing a key role," said the 31-year-old.

Fast bowler Sarah Andrews, 24, and wicket-keeper Jodie Purves, 21, have both been called into the side for the first time for the series, which involves a Test and three ODIs, all in Adelaide.
