Broad 'heartbroken' to miss Ashes series
Injured England all-rounder Stuart Broad is joining the BBC Test Match Special team as an expert summariser for the third Ashes Test in Perth.
Having played in the first two Tests of the series in Australia, Broad was ruled out of the rest of the tour because of an abdominal injury.
Broad, 24, was an ever present during the successful 2009 Ashes series.
"I am thrilled," said TMS producer Adam Mountford. "He will be able to bring us a unique perspective."
England lead the five-Test series 1-0 after their emphatic innings triumph in Adelaide. The third Test starts in Perth on Thursday 16 December at 0230 GMT.
Nottinghamshire's Broad tweeted: "Excited to be part of the TMS team at the WACA come Thursday! Appointed official tea maker. @aggerscricket @vaughancricket, milk no sugar?!"
He will be joined by Jonathan Agnew, Jim Maxwell, Michael Vaughan, Michael Slater and Geoff Boycott on commentary duty, with contributions from the analyst Simon Hughes and the Australian batting coach Justin Langer.
