From bad to worse

Australia's Justin Langer continues his Ashes diary for BBC Sport Online, on a day when he scored two runs against Sussex.

Wednesday 8 August, 2001

The purpose of this daily postcard is to give you an insight into what it is like being a professional cricket player in the Australian cricket team.

Today, basically, if you have heard of Brighton Rock (a name for rock candy in this part of the world), I have found some rock of my own.

It is called Rock Bottom!

Sorry if this is too sentimental or soft.

But it is reality, and as I type these lines, I can not be more honest than that.

From Sussex

After a tough day at the office!
