Langer: Time to unwind
Aussie celebrations after victory in the second Ashes Test
Party hearty: Australia let their hair down at Lord's
Australian batsman Justin Langer continues his Ashes tour diary for BBC Sport Online.

24 July

Admittedly the second Test match finished two and a half days ago but the celebrations have continued strongly.

With a week in London before our next practice game, the opportunity to let the hair down has been too good to let go by.

Funky Miller's hair has remained green, Slats has continued singing Bon Jovi, and the team song on the Lord's balcony lingers in our minds.

The Ashes are far from being won, but I think the chance to unwind this week will allow the guys to come out fresher and stronger next week at Trent Bridge.

John Buchanan leaves no stone unturned in our Test match preparations so these few days off would have been carefully considered.

Apart from a six-a-side charity day at Teddington today, where 'Jacko' the young Teddington scorer gave us a few lessons in the art of five over, six-a-side cricket, most of the squad will leave their cricket gear in their bags until Hampshire on Saturday.

With the growing criticism of the injury-plagued England team reaching boiling point in the press, our opponents will be analysing their own preparation for the cut-throat third Test.

They have a challenge ahead of them and we are waiting eagerly to see how they will fight back.
