Mike Gatting
Mike Gatting
A former England captain, Gatting was a prolific batsman for both his county and England.

He had mixed fortunes on and off the pitch but his greatest achievement was skippering the side that retained the Ashes in 1986-87.

Gatting was involved in the famous row with Pakistan umpire Shakoor Rana in 1987, which almost led to the cancellation of the tour.

And he was the unfortunate batsman dismissed by Shane Warne with the "ball of the century" at Old Trafford in 1993.

Gatting retired from playing at the end of the 1998 season and coached Middlesex for two seasons.

He is a regular in the TMS commentary box during the summer.
