Donald is arguably South Africa's finest ever bowler. He led the seam attack for more than a decade following his country's re-admission to international cricket in 1991.
Nicknamed "White Lightning", he combined rhythm, balance and aggression perfectly to gain a fiercesome reputation.
His Test and one-day bowling figures, which both average just over 20, speak for themselves.
In one-day internationals he has grabbed 11 four-wicket hauls, one five-wicket haul and has best figures of six for 23 against Kenya in the 1996 World Cup.
Having joined the elite group of bowlers with 300 Test wickets in 2000/01 but beset by injuries, Donald retired from five-day cricket the following year.
And he retired from one-day cricket at the end of the World Cup, which was something of a disappointment for Donald.
He is now concentrating on his broadcasting career with TMS as well as captaining Free State.
