Aussies' Donald plot leaked
Allan Donald warms up at the MCG
Donald will feature in his first Test for eight months
A secret Australian plan on how to combat the threat of South African paceman Allan Donald has ended up in the hands of a journalist.

Australia's approach on how to play the veteran bowler was slipped under the door of an Associated Press journalist staying in the same hotel as the Australian team.

It is the third time Australia's game plan has been passed into the public domain.

The batting approach outlined by the memo suggested Australia's batsmen could sap the energy of the 35-year-old.

Not feeling on top of his game
Australia's thoughts on Donald
It said: "We can wear him down by being patient" and "he can over-attack at times which gives us plenty of scoring opportunities".

The list outlined Donald's strengths and weaknesses and may have been intended for the eyes of Ricky Ponting who is in the room next to the journalist.

Donald's positives were listed as his experience, the fact this was his last tour, his ability to bowl line and length at pace and that he bowls better if he snares an early wicket.

His weaknesses were: "didn't take many wickets against New South Wales (in a tour match last week); not feeling on top of his game; hasn't played a Test for eight months; has been plagued by injury since his last Test".

Under batting, the entry simply said "Kaboom!!" perhaps indicating Australia think that Donald self-destructs at the crease.
