I don't think pride is missing Bennett King

The hosts have only a remote chance of reaching the semi-finals after losing their first four Super 8 games.

But King said: "We must get behind the players and look for some structures to put in place for the future.

"The boys have the skill, but they have to get the supportive environment when they play international cricket to really move forward."

To progress to the last four, West Indies need England to beat South Africa on Tuesday, and then win their two remaining games against Bangladesh and England.

Such a sequence of results would leave West Indies, England and South Africa level on six points, with net run-rate deciding which team goes through.

Irrespective of what fate has in store, King believes the main goal in the next two games is to "turn those disappointing results around".

He continued: "We still have to win the games and it's important for us to finish the competition on a good note and have momentum for the next tournament."

The Australia, who was given a three-year contract when he was appointed as coach in November 2004, wants to continue in his job for the tour to England which follows.

"I am enthusiastic and have put in as much time and energy as possible. Sometimes people say things and take us down - sometimes it is warranted and sometimes it is not.

"The young players have the skill and ability but it has got to be harnessed and groomed. Talent is not being developed in the West Indies as in other countries."
