Brian Lara's problems continued when West Indies were fined for a slow over-rate during their defeat against Sri Lanka in Guyana on Sunday. Lara's captaincy has been widely criticised by both former players and spectators and match referee Jeff Crowe added to his woes by imposing the fine.
Players are fined 5% of match fees for every over not bowled in time and the captain's punishment is doubled.
In this instance the Windies stars were penalised 10% and beleagured Lara 20%.
