Trinidad and Tobago opening batsman Lendl Simmons has been named in the 15-man West Indies cricket squad for three Tests in Pakistan in November. Simmons, 21, who can also keep wicket, has played 39 first-class matches since his debut as a professional in 2002.
Chairman of selectors and former star batsman Gordon Greenidge said: "He has been performing well and deserves an opportunity at the highest level.
"He has been developing well, and looks to be a good bet for the long term."
Simmons is a nephew of 26-Test veteran Phil Simmons.
Fast bowler Daren Powell and all-rounder Omari Banks also received recalls for the Test squad.
Powell's 17th and last Test was in New Zealand in March, while Banks had been overlooked since the tour of Sri Lanka in 2005.
The first Test is on 11 November in Lahore. Five one-day internationals follow in December, and the selectors will pick their squad for that series separately.
