Under King, the West Indies have lost to Australia, England and Sri Lanka |
Bennett King's value as West Indies coach has been questioned. Guyana Cricket Board president Chetram Singh has called on the West Indies Cricket Board to review his contract.
Singh said King had run the national team for more than a year with very little success, with Bennett and four assistants costing $1m dollars a year.
"The question is whether we can afford the million dollars per annum without seeing some value for it," said Singh, with the WICB said to be in debt.
Singh has written to the WICB asking for the review of the Australian coach's contract because of growing concern in regional cricketing circles about the state of West Indies cricket and the fortunes of the senior team.
Since King became coach, the West Indies have lost Test series to Australia, England and Sri Lanka.
