Sri Lanka have dissolved the interim committee appointed by the government to run cricket on the island. The committee was headed 1996 World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga, who was appointed chairman in January. Sports ministry secretary S. Liyanagama will oversee the day-to-day affairs of the cricket administration until a decision is taken on the next step. Minister of Sport Gamini Lokuge has the option of calling board elections or appointing a new committee. "We will take a decision within a week," Lokuge said.
