Controversial pace bowler Andre Nel has not had his central contract with Cricket South Africa (CSA) renewed.

The 31-year-old, who is currently suspended after two separate swearing incidents, has played 36 Tests and 70 one-day internationals for the Proteas.

Nel, who is known for his combative approach, missed South Africa's recent tour of Australia because of injury.

His replacement in that squad, left-arm bowler Lonwabo Tsotsobe, 24, is one of the 16 players to get a CSA contract.

Tsotsobe, who plays for Chevrolet Warrors in South Africa, impressed during South Africa's final one-day international in Perth when he took 4-50.

Right-arm bowler Monde Zondeki and spinner all-rounder Robin Petersen were the other players not to have their CSA deals renewed.
