South Africa accept Botha ruling
J Botha
Johan Botha's international future looks bleak at present
Cricket South Africa says it will abide by official procedure after off-spinner Johan Botha's action was ruled illegal by the International Cricket Council.

The ICC examined his revised action in August and it was hoped that he would soon return to international cricket.

But further tests done towards the end of the month confirmed he continued to bend his arm more than 15 degrees.

CSA's Brian Basson said: "We accept any decision taken by the ICC as well as the testing procedures in this regard."

Botha, who has played one Test and 11 one-day internationals, had his action ruled illegal when he was tested in Perth after a Test match against Australia in January.

CSA helped him try to correct his action in conjunction with the Sports Science Institute in Cape Town.

Basson added: "The ICC has review procedures.

"We will decide whether to take this route once we have a report from the Sports Science Institute on the findings of the ICC's test on Johan."
