Henry loses SA chief selector job
Omar Henry
Henry was appinted convenor of selectors in 2002
South Africa have demoted chief selector Omar Henry ahead of their home Test series against England, according to reports.

He will remain part of a four-man selection panel, but will be replaced as convenor by Haroon Lorgat.

"I'm now 52 and I've got a fair appreciation of cricket politics. If I was 20 years younger, I might have reacted differently," said Henry.

South Africa's squad for the first Test is due to be named later on Tuesday.

The selection panel shake-up has taken place at the end of a tour to India which saw South Africa lose a two-Test series 1-0.

The team have endured a difficult year so far, winning only two out of nine Tests and five out of 18 one-day internationals.

"Our major concern has been the effective management of the selection process," said United Cricket Board chief executive Gerald Majola.
