Razzaq says he is "hurt" by the way he has been treated

Razzaq will help fill the gap left by the return of Phil Jaques and Doug Bollinger to duty for Australia A.

The 27-year-old quit international cricket on Monday after being left out of Pakistan's World Twenty20 squad.

"Abdul's availability has come at the right time. He will give us quality and experience during the last few weeks," Pears chief executive Mark Newton said.

Razzaq, who missed this year's 50-over World Cup with a knee injury, has appeared in 46 Tests and 231 one-dayers.

He said he decided to quit the international scene because he was disillusioned with the way the Pakistan Cricket Board had treated him.

"They dropped me but none of them bothered to call me up and tell me why I was dropped," he told Geo television. "Their attitude has hurt and disappointed me a lot."

But Razzaq has refused to rule out a U-turn, adding: "There can be a reconciliation, but the board has to listen to the grievances of the players."

And chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed is hoping the player changes his mind.

"I still believe that Razzaq has a future in Pakistan cricket and he should reconsider his decision," he said.
