Pakistan bring in Anjum & Mahmood
Rao Iftikhar Anjum and Azhar Mahmood
Anjum and Mahmood will hope to lift the injury-ravaged tourists
Pakistan have called up medium-pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum to join their injury-hit squad in South Africa.

All-rounder Azhar Mahmood flew in on Monday and Anjum, 26, will fly out on Wednesday, but not in time for the second one-day international.

Mahmood, 31, who played the last of his 139 ODIs in Australia in February 2005, is in line to feature in Durban.

Shabbir Ahmed damaged his groin during Friday's Twenty20 defeat and became the third player to be sent home.

Fellow seamers Shoaib Akhtar (hamstring) and Umar Gul (ankle) returned last month.

South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series on Sunday with a 164-run victory at Centurion Park.

Anjum has taken 19 wickets in 25 one-day internationals.

Mahmood has 122 victims from 139 ODIs and has been in good form in domestic cricket, with 34 wickets in the past four matches.

Last month he told BBC Sport of his frustration at being left out of the 30-man World Cup probables list.

At the time, selector Wasim Bari said Pakistan wanted to use younger players but Mahmood could still be included in the final 15-man squad when it is named next week.
