The Pakistan Cricket Board says it has no further case to answer in the doping case against previously banned bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif. The World Anti-Doping Agency wants to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
Shoaib and Asif served just a month of their bans for positive tests for nandrolone after winning their appeals.
And PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf said abruptly on Sunday: "As far as Pakistan is concerned the matter is closed."
He declined to comment further on an interview given by Wada chairman Dick Pound to BBC World Service Sport on Saturday.
Pound said the International Cricket Council - the game's governing body - was "a signatory to the anti-doping code" and that Pakistan, as a full member of the ICC, was bound by its rules.
He also suggested the ICC - which is officially in discussions with Wada about the case - may regret procrastinating.
Pound said: "If we are successful in this, I think it will be a matter of considerable embarrassment to the ICC that it did not act."
