Former international captains Kapil Dev and Tony Greig have been named on the executive board of India's new professional cricket league. The rebel league, to be launched this year, is being set up by a top Indian broadcast and entertainment group.
Zee Telefilms have revealed six teams will take part in Twenty20 matches to be played in India in July and August.
The Indian Cricket League board will also include ex-Australia batsman Dean Jones and former India star Kiran More.
"The game should be run by the people who have played it at the highest level and hence the choice of the members," said Subhash Chandra, chairman of Essel Group which controls Zee Telefilms.

Each team in the league will have four foreign players, two current Indian players and eight young Indian players.
And the series will be expanded to 50-over cricket in due course, Chandra has said.
But former England skipper Greig said the league would not conflict with the Indian cricket board.
"This will be the platform where youngsters from all corners of India will play alongside the superstars of international cricket, learn the tricks of the trade from them and gain confidence to excel," he said.
