Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar wants greater consistency from his team after their shock victory over South Africa. They beat the Proteas by 67 runs in Guyana to earn their first Super 8 points of the World Cup.
But Bashar said: "We need to be consistent. We don't want to play one good game and then three bad games.
"We have always believed we can play good cricket...but we needed to prove ourselves as well that we can play at this level."
Bashar said his side had been a little too "laidback" after their first round win over India but now had a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
"It [the win over South Africa] has brought a bit of our toughness back. If we had lost, we would have had absolutely no chance. We do have a chance now, but we have to work really hard.
"This is a big win for Bangladesh. It shows that we are in the Super 8s not just to participate, but to show the world we are capable of pulling off big surprises."
Bangladesh's next assignment is a match against England in Barbados on Wednesday.
"If we have conditions like these, I would be very happy. I don't know what the conditions are. I have a suspicion that the Barbados wicket will have a lot more grass than this," coach Dav Whatmore commented.
Whatmore fended off questions about his own role in the win over South Africa, saying: "It's the team that has to go out and do all the hard work.
"They have to take those very difficult catches and stop a hard-hit ball, get bruises, dive and all that sort of stuff.
"It gives me a tremendous satisfaction to see a group of players who have come a long way since I joined in 2003. The team has changed and it will continue to change. It will always evolve. That's how I look at it."
