Mortaza will lead the Bangladesh pace attack in India |
Injury-prone Bangladesh seamer Mashrafe Mortaza says he is raring to go in the ICC Champions Trophy after injuring his ankle in a freak accident at home. Mortaza's career has been blighted by knee and foot injuries in the past and he recently slipped down the stairs.
He is now fit and already has the experience of playing in India.
"I have a feel of the wickets here which should help me," the 23-year-old, who is set to lead the attack against Sri Lanka next week, told BBC Sport.
"The pitch and bounce in the Mohali wicket is going to help us considerably. I will try to maintain my line and length on a pitch which will be sporting.
"Wickets in India do not have much for fast bowlers but a few places like Mohali are different."
Mortaza took 12 wickets in the recent one-day series in Kenya, including a Bangladesh record of 6-26 in one game.
He is not the only fast Tigers paceman to be hit by injury recently, with Syed Rasel hurting his foot in a motorcycle accident.
Coach Dav Whatmore says his players are in confident mood ahead of the qualifying matches, adding: "It is just a matter of putting things together."
