Bangladesh have dropped opener Javed Omar from the squad for next month's Champions Trophy. They have instead picked uncapped batsman Mehrab Hossain Junior in their 14-man squad.
Habibul Bashar will captain the side although he is still recovering from a broken thumb.
"Mehrab Hossain Jr had some very good performances over the last two years and we hope he can do something good," chief selector Faruk Ahmed said.
Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe
in the qualifying phase of the Champions Trophy, starting 7 October.
